REV. PETER ARVIDSON DIES

We are pained to record the death of Rev. P. Arvidson, which current his residence on Monday evening. He was confined to his bed for only a week preceding his death. It had been apparent to his friends for some weeks that he had overtaxed his powers both physical and mental, and he finally succumbed to an attack or softening of the brain, and partial paralysis due to the same cause. He died as he had lived, with his last consciously expressed thought in regard to the details of his duty as pastor. He was preeminently a man who let his ideas of his duty, take precedence of all other considerations, and, us the result shows, sacrificed his life and largely his financial prospects, to the faithful execution of his idea of duty. He will be missed by a large circle of friends and sincere mourners. "Requiescat in pace."
