Annie Cermak Adamek

Annie Cermak was born in Borovnice, Bohemia, April 19, 1811. Marries John Adamek in 1830. Mrs. Adamek was the mother of six children, five boys and one girl. Only one son survives her- Esquire Frank Adamek. She moved with her husband to Chicago in 1856, and 1857 went onto the farm about four miles east of Algonquin, where she lived until 1890, when she moved with her son Frank to Algonquin where she lived until her death, May 4, 1901. She has made her home with her son Frank ever since her husband's death in 1872. She leaves to mourn her loss one son, as stated above, twenty-seven living grandchildren, and twenty-six great grandchildren, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. The funeral was held at the Episcopal church, Sunday. She was buried in Smith cemetery, four miles east of here. It can be truly said a long life well spent is at rest.
